Golden Key Enrichment - A Russian Language and Math Enrichment program

MARINA SHTATLAND

Math Teacher

Marina, a native of Pushchino, Russia, has always had a passion for teaching math. When she moved to the US with her family, she became a math major and attended various schools and specialty programs, such as Penn State’s Mathematics Advanced Study Semester (MASS) and Cornell’s Summer Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR). After working as a software engineer, she switched fields and received her BS in Management with a concentration in Accounting and MS in Finance from UMass in Boston, MA.

Throughout her time at university and her career as a CPA at PricewaterhouseCoopers and State Street Investment Bank, Marina always found time to pursue her hobby – teaching! Her teaching experience ranges from teaching math to pre-school children at Lukomorie Russian Cultural Center in Boston to leading the tutoring program at UMass Boston’s College of Management, teaching undergraduate and graduate students as an adjunct professor at UMASS Boston and Lesley University, and developing corporate training programs in tax accounting.

In her free time, Marina enjoys time with her family. Together, they love reading, solving math puzzles, and watching ballets. Her two daughters, Maya and Anna, have taken classes at GK.
