NATASHA TER-SAAKOV

Math Teacher

Natasha grew up surrounded by mathematicians and teachers. Her family moved to New Jersey from Moscow, Russia when she was 3 years old. As a child, Natasha’s weekends were often spent solving math problems with her grandfather. Throughout high school, she continued to develop her passion for math - she competed in the American Regions Mathematics League on the Lehigh Valley Math Team and also qualified for the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) 4 times.

In college, Natasha not only kept up with her passion but extended it by doing research at the prestigious and highly competitive MathILy-EST and Duluth Research Experiences for Undergraduates. After finishing her Bachelor of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a major in Mathematics, a minor in Computer Science, and a concentration in Education, Natasha continued on to a PhD in mathematics at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

During high school, Natasha worked at Golden Key for three years as an assistant and camp counselor. Having taken a break for most of college, she started teaching online with the start of COVID and has continued periodically since. On rare occasions, she may be seen in-person substituting for another instructor.
