ALEXANDER MAO
Math Teacher
A resident of Pennsylvania, Alex was exposed to mathematics at a young age. Alex envisioned mathematics as exercises of the mind, training you for future problems. He spent his high school years exploring a diverse set of AP level subjects and found a love for Physics. Alex then continued studying Physics at the University of Pittsburgh where he received a Bachelor of Science in Physics with Honors, a certificate in Quantum Computing, and a minor in Chemistry.
While in University, Alex hosted office hours and extra study sessions as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Organic Chemistry, creating an appreciation for the process of breaking down complex topics into simpler easy to understand ideas. He has also done volunteer tutoring for a nonprofit with younger students in both mathematics and reading. When not busy in the classroom, Alex spends most of his time with friends and family. He occasionally will be found working out or doing yardwork to maintain an active lifestyle.
Alex has joined the Golden Key Enrichment team to inspire levels of curiosity and excitement in younger students who form the framework for the future and believes that all knowledge is best utilized when transmitted and transformed on by others.
