EKATERINA MASLENNIKOVA
Russian Teacher
Ekaterina was born in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. Her school had a language-focused curriculum, and this program sparked and developed Ekaterina’s interest in languages from an early age. Ekaterina graduated with honors with a BA in the Study of Languages and a MA in teaching Russian as a Foreign Language from the Lobachevsky State University in Nizhny Novgorod. While at the university, Ekaterina taught Russian language and literature privately to students of different age groups.

In addition to teaching language, Ekaterina has another passion - dance. Since age seven, Ekaterina has been competing professionally as a dancer, winning the European Champion of WADF European Artistic Dance Championship (2018) and twice World Champion of WADF World Artistic Dance Championship (2017, 2018) amongst others. While in college and in graduate school, Ekaterina shared her craft with others - she trained kids from age 5 to 18 in dance and prepared them for competitions. As a result of her outstanding dance achievements, in 2019 she was invited to work as a professional instructor at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in West Chester, PA, so Ekaterina moved to the US where she became a Fred Astaire National Champion.
Ekaterina has over 10 years of teaching experience with children. She believes that being a teacher is not just a job, but an approach to life - and she applies this approach to both her Russian and dance lessons.
She finds inspiration in discovering the best teaching methods and content designed to meet the individual goals of each and every student. We are excited to welcome her as a teacher of Advanced Russian language in 2022 here at Golden Key Enrichment!
