RODRIGO MACHUCA

Math Teacher

Born and raised in Santiago, Chile, Rodrigo developed a passion for mathematics and sustainability from an early age. He has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Santiago and a Master's degree in Sustainable Engineering from Villanova University.

Rodrigo has been teaching Math and Science at the University of Santiago since 2013. He started out as a Teaching Assistant in Mechanical Engineering, Calculus, Algebra and Physics and further progressed to being a Math teacher. Rodrigo taught and mentored 200+ high school students over the three years and then additionally coached college-level students. Additionally, as part of his volunteer activities, Rodrigo worked with younger students at Popular Preuniversity Victor Jara - a non-profit school for vulnerable youth from low-income families.

In addition to Rodrigo’s Math and Engineering teaching experience, he is an avid advocate for sustainability, viewing it as an integral aspect of shaping a better future. This commitment extends beyond the classroom, as he actively seeks opportunities to integrate sustainable practices into both his personal and professional life.

When not immersed in the world of teaching and sustainability, Rodrigo finds joy in reading and exploring new destinations, embracing the richness of diverse cultures. We are thrilled to have Rodrigo join our team in 2023 as a new teacher of Mathematics.
